* Please be aware that we offer free shipping on orders over $75. However, heavy or oversized orders will incur additional charges. 

These items may include helmets, trainers, car racks, etc. Note that sometimes the package dimensions may trigger the extra freight charge.  These oversized fees or conditions will be displayed during the checkout process.  Additionally, certain brands restrict online shipping of their products, and only allow in-store pick up.  If you have any questions about our shipping rates or policies please contact us at orders@blackmountainbicycles.com and we’ll respond promptly.

Orders typically ship USPS or UPS Ground.  We cannot ship to post office boxes or unconfirmed addresses so please be sure to include a verifiable street or physical shipping address for delivery. When placing an order, the billing address and shipping address must match.  If you need to place an order and ship an item to a different address than your billing address, you must use PayPal at checkout. We do not ship to freight forwarders or 3rd party shippers. 

 Black Mountain Bicycles will only ship orders within the United States. Sorry, we do not ship outside of the Continental U.S.

In-Store Pickup

If you select in-store pickup we will contact you when your order is ready for pickup at Black Mountain Bicycles. Most online orders will be ready within one business day.  If you need an item immediately, please call ahead to confirm product availability before heading over to our store. Please keep in mind that some items may require additional processing time to transfer from off-site storage locations or may require additional processing time for assembly. Unless special arrangements are made in advance, orders need to be picked up within 15 days or a 10% restocking fee will be charged.

All online purchases picked up in store require verifying photo ID against the credit card used to make the purchase.


  • In Stock Now - orders will be ready for pickup within one business day. Please keep in mind that some items may require additional processing time for assembly.
  • Special Order - In Suppliers Warehouse - orders will require additional processing time to transfer merchandise from off-site locations.  These orders will be ready for pickup within 3-10 business days.

We've been selling premium bicycles and cycling equipment in San Diego since 1973.  During that time we have served thousands of cyclists, from world class athletes to little tykes on their first bike. We have built our business by making every effort to deliver the best products and customer service possible. If we ever fail to provide you with the very best product or service please tell us and we will do what it takes to make it right.

We stand behind everything we sell. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return the item within 30 days of the purchase date and we'll replace it or give you a refund. Please read "Returns & Exchanges" for more information.

Information Security

We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts all of the information you provide to us and prevents outside parties from being able to view or access your transaction information. When your account information is displayed on your screen, we only display the last four digits of your credit card numbers. You also have the choice of whether or not to save credit card information with us in your Online Account.  We sometimes use other companies (third-party service providers) to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders and delivering packages. They need access to some personal information in order to perform their duties but may not use this information for other purposes.


Fraudulent Order Protection

Black Mountain Bicycles has the right to cancel an order that appears fraudulent.  When ordering online, the billing address and shipping address must be the same. If you need to place an order and ship an item to a different address than your billing address, you must use PayPal at checkout.  All online purchases picked up in store require verifying photo ID against the credit card used to make the purchase (if applicable).

Inventory Disclaimer

Our online inventory updates as frequently as every 15 minutes. We make every effort to maintain current and accurate inventory on our website. On occasion due to an inventory error, we may not have an item for sale that is advertised on our website and reserve the right to cancel an order for this reason. We appreciate your understanding and regret any inconvenience such mistakes may create.


Recycled Boxes

We receive hundreds of boxes a month full of product for our store. In our efforts to be green and reduce waste to the landfills, we repurpose those boxes for eCommerce orders that may ship to your door. If a box shows up to your door marked with another brand marking then the item you may have ordered, don't fret! Your order is packaged nicely inside the repurposed box. If your item is damaged during shipping please contact us right away so we can organize a replacement for you.
